Brittany’s Closet 2016 event progress
I am happy to announce that with all your support we have reached 99.3% of our goal for this year’s event. I look forward to more opportunities in the future to help raise funds for this wonderful charity.
Spring 2016 update
Jim and I were married a few weeks ago and our “simple little wedding” went viral. The weeks to follow had a large amount of exposure and interviews. This took up a fair amount of our time combing through emails, social media and phone calls. So much for our honeymoon to Iceland!
.
Work will be keeping us in Seattle so no more relocating! I have also applied for a position what will keep me local more often with less traveling. In addition, we have purchased a new house and will be permanently settling here in Western Washington. Construction is estimated to be completed in late July, early August. Updates will follow with more exact dates on the move, temporary suspension of service, waitlists, timeline for shipping and when normal business is planned to resume. This will be our last and final move. Good thing as I’m done setting up new dye rooms!! LOL
.
The stress and demands of the last 6 weeks has proved to be difficult for me medically. To be honest, there are days the pain and fatigue just gets the best of me. In addition, I have had a much larger volume of orders and custom fabrics requests than normal. Physically I am not able to process orders as quickly.

Nora Mystery ready to ship
My delivery for the Nora mystery was scheduled to arrive on Monday, unfortunately UPS had delivered it to the wrong address. I now have the items and plan to ship to everyone today. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Love is in the Air (accessories)
Many have asked about the hat and shoes I designed for the wedding. If you would like to inquire accessories please comment or send me a note. I will be happy to add you to the list once everything has settled down a bit. This is the new website and not all the links, pages and products are up yet.
Our impromptu in-flight wedding put completing the site on the back burner for now. There will be a page for HLC Adornments coming very soon.

Why Wild Rose? Brittany’s mother is one of most amazing women I have ever had the honor to meet. She is a true beauty, with love that reaches far. She lost her daughter at a very young age. In honor of her her daughter Brittany, she started this charity, hence the name Brittany’s Blessing.

A little update for everyone
Our infamous orange cat got under foot (as usual) and I took a wee tumble on the stairs. I plan to do my best on answering emails/messages, dyeing, invoicing etc this week. I’m just moving much slower than usual. I’m very lucky my injuries are not worse. -Kristy
The trial is over
The last 18 month have not been the smoothest in regards to invoicing and tracking or orders. We have decided to jump ship with the new Point of Sale software and go back to the old company. They have completely revamped their software and it is much better suited to our needs. We were having too many sales issues, payments not processing correctly, dropping customer off FOTM randomly. Just too many glitches and bugs for our liking.
Please be accept our apologies in advance for any delays this may cause. We will have to manually reenter all existing orders and invoices in addition to recreating inventory lists etc. Thankfully we are fast typers and have been doing this for a long time.
I will be ecstatic when this transition is complete and the office returns to normal. I expect things will run much smoother.
We are making progress!
It feels good to make some good progress this month. Prior to our move to Washington, my stash unload listings were in full swing. This last week a local Seattle stitcher has offered to help me finish cataloging, photographing and listing the remaining items. We are talking 29 large boxes of stitching stash, items from my shop etc. God bless her because this has been quite a task. I do love this lady as she organizes things just as I would. Diane is a blessing and I already don’t know what I would do without her.
This has also made time for me to reset my product room. It’s difficult to move to a new space after so many years in the same place, having everything just how I like it. For those of you local to Seattle, the new product room (aka The Haberdashery) will be easy to shop, have a fabric and floss toss table and more.
Needless to say I am feeling very inspired and motivated to create more. pssst…. We need to talk Diane into staying. She is a perfect addition to our fabric family.
Off to bed I go… Another long day tomorrow.
Cheers! Kristy
